Hair and Make-up Team – Here Comes Hell

Friday 19th January 2018 – Monday 29th January 2018

Charlie and I were lucky enough to be cast as the Hair and Make-up Team for a black and white, 1930’s based horror film.

We arrived at the lakeside lodges and met the cast and crew on the Friday Night and the next day it was a 5am alarm ready to do the hair and make-up of the cast.

I did the Hair and Make-up for the girls, Jess Webber and Margaret Clunie.

Whilst Charlie had the task of hair and make-up for the boys ; Tim Renouf, Charlie Robb & Tom Bailey (Taz) and Maureen.

Shortly after 8am we arrived on location… Revesby Abbey.
Revesby Abbey

This location is a privately owned, beautiful hidden gem in a state of disrepair and is slowly being renovated by the family who own it. It is the perfect location for a horror film.

My daily routine was to wake up, get ready then set up in the kitchen ready for 6am when the girls would come to hair and make up. I’d remove their pincurls which were prepared the night before and style them out and grip and spray the hair into their necessary hairstyles.
Then makeup would begin for Jess it would be
L’oreal Infallible Primer then Infallible Foundation – Porcelain
MUA contour – cheekbones, jaw and temples/forehead
L’oreal Blush
Laroc Eyeshadow palette we’d use medium browns in the crease
Sleek Brow Kit would then be used to fill in her natural brows
Collection 2000 Waterproof Mascara would be coated on the top and bottom lashes
Sleek Red Lipstick would be applied last

For the last few days of filming I also had to build a bruise with the bruised willis palette.
Behind the Scenes - Jess keeping warm in the green room

Margaret’s Routine was different as she required heavier makeup and more complex hair for her role
L’oreal Infallible Primer then Infallible Foundation – Porcelain
MUA contour – cheekbones and temples/forehead
L’oreal Blush
Laroc Eyeshadow palette we’d use dark browns in the crease
Nyx Epic Liner – winged liner
Natural False Lashes applied with Duo Glue
Sleek Brow Kit would then be used to fill in her natural brows
Collection 2000 Waterproof Mascara would be coated on the top and bottom lashes
Charlotte Tilbury Glastonberry Lipstick

This was later in filming when her hair didn’t need to be pinned to the side anymore

For One Day Margaretwas transformed into a possessed version of her character so heavier makeup was used to sculpt her face and of course fake blood was needed.

With the early starts and the late nights prepping hair we had to sleep when we could, so we had our walkie talkie to be called to set for checks but would take power naps when we could in the green room and try to keep warm.

The hours were long but so rewarding to get to see our work on the rush’s at then end of the day. The food was incredible thanks team!

I honestly had one of the best 10 nights of my life it was hilarious but returning home and getting a nice hot bath was lush!

Here is Charlie and I’s final wrap picture ❤

We had one day off to rest up before we returned to college classes.

Thank you to all the Here Comes Hell Cast & Crew for making my first Film Set Experience so positive and amazing. I cannot wait for the premiere.

Day 2 Make, Manage & Master Money Event – The Disruptive Entrepreneur Review

8AM Mindset Training & Breakfast

Day 2 was my favourite day of this weekend. Even though it was an early start for Mindset it had some of the best information and advice from Raymond (pictured above). Where your mindset should be, who you should and shouldn’t surround yourself with and how to manage your money to ensure you make and save more.
Raymond also covered how to keep accounts balanced super easily and make all your cards into one – technology is amazing!

Session 2 – Crypto-currency

The details of this session are not to be shared but they are not to be missed. I learnt a lot and will be doing some further research to decide where to go with this. In the mean time I am making Sweatcoins – As you walk/Run outside you can earn crypto-currency called Sweatcoins and invite friends and earn even more.
My Link: Sweatcoin App

Session 3 – How to make money on the internet – Simon Coulson

My favourite session of the entire weekend and as soon as I have my other ventures up and running I will be booking on to one of his weekend retreats to learn all of his secrets and tips. Simon really motivated me and made me think completely different about everything I’ve ever done and the knowledge I hold.  Simple Ideas and concepts which I had overlooked and I cannot wait to learn even more from him.

Session 4 – How to Buy & Sell Great Businesses No Money Down

Although this is something I am interested in, for me this is something to pursue in a couple of years. I would love to flip businesses and not even have to use my own to buy them in the first place but make thousands from them a month or so later… who wouldn’t?

– Working Break-
Raymond returned to the stage and made us write down a plan:
What we are going to begin doing this week?
What challenges we may face
What is my Why? think 50 whys deep
Where will  I be in 15 years?
Implications if I don’t do it?

Session 5 – Life Leverage

How to make more from our time so we can do what we want?
She covered; outsourcing, where and who to hire, how to automate processes, apps to use and what you can get staff to do for your business(es)

We had to sadly leave at this point to get back home for a reasonable time. However the final session was:
1-2-1 & Q&A with Rob Moore and Gerald Ratner (billionaire)

Final Round-up:
Did I think I would be bored? Yes
Was I? No
Did I learn new information? Yes
Do I want to go on an additional course? Yes
Has it motivated me? Yes
Have I got new business plans? Yes
Do I now know who Rob Moore is? Definitely
Would I recommend the event? Yes
Would I pay to go to this event? 100%

Additional Advice:
Book in at the Serpentine Premier Inn Hotel as its super close!
Take a New Notebook & Pens (you will make so many notes)
Have Business Cards with you
You do not need to be in business attire
Save up before hand so you can take full advantage of the special offers on the other courses ( big savings on the day of the events)
Take a phone or tablet with a good camera and battery life

Thank you to the entire Progressive Property/The Disruptive Entrepreneur team and to Bev (Mimi and Be – coming soon) for inviting me, I know this year will be interesting and hopefully life changing.

Lets do it!

Day 1, Make, Manage & Master Money Event – Disruptive Entrepreneur Review

6:30AM – Bev, of picks me up.

Bright eyed and bushy tailed on the road to Peterborough we go, chatting, singing and being excited about the event to come.

Bev has been mentally preparing me for this event for months, I’m not going to pretend I even knew (until today) who Rob Moore is and I’ve never read his books or listened to his podcasts.

We arrived at the training suite and it was super busy pushing 250 people at a guess and the first speaker was Raymond who gave us a rundown of what to expect over the weekend and introduced us to the concept of money.

We spot Rob Moore slide slyly into the room and Bev had a slight starstruck moment which is a first for her as she’s met famous film stars on movie sets. I have to admit he is a good looking chap. After he cringes at his own video he gets up on stage and begins teaching us about Leverage and other pro tips for business.  He also gives us the professional insight into podcasting. It is refreshing how Rob is so down to earth, after years of watching Tony Robbins’ over the top Americanised approach.

We’re given a speedy lunch break and I began to feel seriously tired after being up since 5am but we hop straight back into a Social Media talk by Paul O’Mahony. Paul was giving us the low down on the best ways to use social media for business and how to make money from it on each platform.

Raymond enters stage left; discusses Angel Finance and how to get the investment needed and the process of acquiring it for business ventures. He also covered more of his background and family life whilst cracking jokes along the way.

Rob Moore returns to the stage for a Q&A session after changing his t-shirt. And spends about an hour answering questions from the audience.

I can honestly say Day 1 was amazing and I didn’t get bored like I expected too. Rob Moore and his team really encouraged the motivation I already have and I feel excited about tomorrow.

As I write this Bev and I are enjoying a bottle of wine in the hotel bar and speaking about today’s events and future plans.

I wasn’t actually doing Dry January 🥂

If today is anything to go by this event is worth every penny. (I was Bev’s Free +1)

Day 2 review coming soon 💋

Leeds Pride – Supporting the LGBTQ+ Community

Leeds Pride – Supporting the LGBTQ+ Community

Sunday 6th August 2017

9am alarm, quick shower, time to “paint” the face, pick out the outfit, order brunch, get dressed, new Timberlands on, denim jacket ready, card and ID, headphones, Spotify pride playlist loaded, selfie time…
Walk to Cookridge Street.

As I approach The Headrow I see a variety of brightly coloured outfits, made up faces, pride flags and hear the music starting to pump up from Millenium Square. I pushed my anxiety aside and had decided to go to Pride alone (this is a big thing for me I don’t really go anywhere alone).

2PM I found a good spot and the parade began to fill up the street. It was a buzzing atmosphere, great floats, amazing outfits, people of every age, race and social group were lining the streets around central Leeds to watch and show their support for diversity within our society. Leeds is such a diverse and exciting city and it really showed as people cheered on the various groups in the parade.

From live streaming on the Glitter Makes It Better FB Page to streaming on my personal FB and taking a ton of pictures my phone was low on battery; time to head to Carphone Warehouse and get a battery to charge the phone up.
Battery bought, head on down to the street party.

Here it is again that overwhelming feeling of dread, welcome to anxiety, just as it was starting to build up, I run into a girl from work and it eases somewhat; she invites me with her and her friends and the rest of the day was spent with a few drinks, dancing and on fairground rides. Videos below…

So after the anxiety and build up that my mind had created, it was one of the best days of the year and my first Pride in Leeds.

Thank you Leeds Pride 2017 you were spectacular ❤
